The first photo to the right was taken March, 2001. I began working out with
weights at home and power walking in the park. That got old quickly so I bought
a gym membership and as you can see, 6 months later, I made a significant
physical change. I spent 2 hours at a time, 5 days a week at the gym, and went
to Jazzercise classes at least 3 times per week. I used magazines like Muscle &
Fitness Hers and Shape to get started with weight training. I made diet changes
as I learned how to count carbohydrates like people with diabetes do to manage
their blood sugar. I basically learned
what and how to feed my body and ate 5 meals a day.
